Earlier this summer, Nursery Manager Joanne Healey was contacted by the Girl Scout Council of the Chesapeake Bay regarding erosion on Williston Lake in Denton. After surveying the damage, Joanne selected appropriate plants for the site from the Arboretum’s Native Plant Nursery.
Joanne, Arboretum intern Kelli Magaw, camp ranger Bob Foote and his wife, Karen, and two Arboretum volunteers, Roger Tilden and Leigh Sands, spent two days transforming an eroded patch into a beautiful native planting.
